Weight Loss
There is no shortage of advice available on weight loss and dieting. The facts are however that most people put weight back on very quickly once they stop. Most weight loss diets fail because it is hard to stay enthusiastic when we are bored and hungry. The only way to lose weight and keep it of is to change your diet for the long term. This may sound scary but rest assured you will still have a wide choice of foods available. There is much more to healthy eating than a salad. The benefit of this approach is you can be sure you will be improving your health at the same time.
There may be some other underlying reasons why you are finding it difficult to lose weight they include:
- Food allergies and intolerances
- Low Thyroid function
- Binge eating/cravings caused by depression or low mood
- Blood sugar imbalance
- Stress and Adrenal Gland exhaustion (the gland that produces stress hormones)
Running some basic tests and making small changes in your diet can often result in weight loss. Along with choosing healthy foods it is also important to take regular exercise; again this is something that needs to be factored into your daily life. However, you don’t need to join a gym or be a sporty person to get fit and healthy. Just half an hour’s brisk walking a day can make a huge difference.
Individual weight loss plan
During an initial consultation we would agree your weight loss goal and timeframe. We would agree a dietary strategy based on your lifestyle and current eating patterns. The aim is to provide you with a plan that is ease to stick to, enjoyable but will achieve the results you require. I would ask you to e-mail me your weight on a weekly basis so I can monitor progress. A follow up appointment would be arranged every 2-6 weeks to review progress and make any additional changes to the plan.
