There is currently a great deal of media coverage about children's diets. A recent survey by Mintel suggested that nearly half of parents in Britain do not think their children eat a healthy diet. The biggest ever survey on over 10,000 children by the charity Food for the Brain reveals that most children have constant sugar cravings and a third of children have attention problems and frequent mood swings.

The National Diet and Nutrition Survey found that:

• 92% of children consume more saturated fat than is recommended;
• 86% consume too much sugar;
• 72% consume too much salt;
• 96% do not get enough fruit and vegetables.

It can be quite a responsibility to ensure your children eat a healthy diet. Having two young children myself I know how difficult it can be. Improving your child’s diet to ensure he has the correct level of vitamins, minerals and essential fats could provide the essential fuel he/she needs.

Nutritional therapy has been shown to help children with a number of issues including:

• Concentration
• Digestive problems
• Behaviour
• Constipation
• Attention problems
• Underweight
• Eczema / Skin
• Overweight
